Living the Arts!

The Cordova Community Council continues the advancement of the arts in 2024. We never tire of finding creative new ways to expand and evolve our exciting arts community and continue to elevate The MACC – the heart of the arts in Rancho Cordova. The City of Rancho Cordova’s Arts Strategic Plan calls out a vision of our city being “a place for art and artists.” We’re working hard to make that vision a reality.

Mills Station Arts & Culture Center (the MACC)

The MACC – The Mills Station Arts & Culture Center – features exhibits by local artists, workshops, history displays, cultural demonstrations, musical performances and more. These thought provoking displays and events are meant to inspire deeper exploration and greater understanding, just like in a science lab, in addition to providing high-quality art experiences and entertainment. Built in 1911, the Mills Station Building has always been a meeting place for the community and a stopping place for travelers. Now, it is all that and more as it comes alive as the MACC.

Supported by a grant from the Rancho Cordova Community Enhancement & Investment Fund, the MACC returns as a lab for the arts in 2024 with a concoction of captivating topics.

Art at City Hall

If you are an artist who lives or works in Rancho Cordova and would like to show your art in this community program please REGISTER as an artist. You only need to do this one time.

The Art at City Hall was started during the summer of 2012. Now in our 11th year, those city hall shows were the catalyst to forming a vibrant arts community in Rancho Cordova. Each year there are 4 shows in the halls with art sometimes on both the first and second floors. The Art @CityHall is a program that is produced and managed by the Cordova Council with assistance from RC Arts (local 501c3). If you would like to become involved in the arts in Rancho Cordova or want to become a member of Rancho Cordova Arts group, email Cheryl@cordovacouncil.org or fill out a Volunteer form.

Rancho Cordova Athletic Association

The Cordova Community Council is bringing the same great collaborative models that have been applied to arts to youth sports organizations in the community. Our motto: “Where all kids play.”

The Rancho Cordova Athletic Association (RCAA) has been formed to bring to the table those leaders who wish to propel youth sports leagues and programs to new heights. Collaborative marketing, planning, improvement of facilities, sports

fee assistance, and positive coaching models are emerging from this effort with a goal that every child in Rancho Cordova will have access to affordable fun that teaches good sportsmanship, healthy lifestyles, teamwork and the rewards of commitment and hard work. The RCAA will host the 9th Annual Rancho Cordova

Sports Hall of Fame on Sept. 14, 2024, a must-see event for local sports fans.

The Rancho Cordova Athletic Association is growing with the community with more leagues and more kids! This is a great partner for those interested in helping evolve the importance of sound bodies and minds through lessons learned through sports.
