2023 Jazmine and Kaeli Savorn

Community Volunteer Awards

2023 Honoree

Kaeli and Jazmine Savorn

Outstanding Teen Service

Jazmine and Kaeli Savorn

Kaeli and Jazmine Savorn are a pair of Cordova High School seniors who make all of us feel good about the future.

Twin sisters, this dynamic duo has it all going on: excelling in the classroom, in athletics and making their mark on the national stage as young leaders. They both hold part-time jobs, both purchased and maintain their own vehicles, and still make community service a priority.

Kaeli and Jazmine may be twins, but they have also spread their wings to soar as incredible individuals. They both are marked for success.

What do they have in common?

Both are taking part in the challenging IB certificate program where they have grade point averages of 4.0 or higher. Both were Link Crew members, helping younger Lancers make the transition to high school life. Both are members of MACH – Mentors at Cordova High -- where they have held leadership roles.

The sisters served as Riverview Elementary School Stem Camp summer counselors. They hold part-time jobs to lighten the load for their single Mom. Still, they find time to take on extra academic loads, earning college credit while still in high school.

Together, they have taken part in numerous community service projects including helping with the PAL Holiday Run, food distribution at the Rancho Cordova Food Locker, City of Rancho Cordova Waste Recycling clean-ups and more.

While they share many interests, they are true individuals.

Kaeli is a Lancer athlete, earning All-League First Team, and League MVP runner-up honors in Volleyball. She is the captain of the Lancer team.

She has set swim records at Cordova High and Norcal and racked up multiple awards in track, volleyball and wrestling. She is a volunteer swim instructor and gives volleyball lessons, serving as captain on multiple occasions.

Jazmine has emerged as a leader in the Family Career and Community Leaders of America -- FCCLA -- organization. FCCLA is a dynamic national student organization that helps students become leaders in the area of family and consumer sciences. In the California state competition, Jazmine placed #1 IN THE NATION in Sports Nutrition – the only California competitor to win national honors.

Kaeli and Jazmine were nominated for this award from MACH Mentor Conrade Mayer, who is always on the lookout for shining stars at Cordova High. Over the years he has brought forth the stories of many extraordinary students, but he said as impressive as they have been, none exceed the broad talents of the Savorn sisters.

Both Kaeli and Jazmine are weighing their next moves, but say they are college-bound, which reminds us of the lessons learned by Alice during her trip to Wonderland.

One is, that it’s no use going back to yesterday, because you were a different person then. Keep your eyes on the future – which for these two -- has success written all over it.

Another lesson is that taking risks can lead to wonderful adventures. If Alice hadn’t chosen to leap down that rabbit hole, she would have missed her wonderland adventures. So, dive in, Savorn Sisters!

Kaeli and Jazmine, you are a credit to your family, your school and your community. Stay curious and follow the White Rabbit. We will all be watching. Congratulations!
