Distinguished Community Service Organization

Moose Lodge
Rancho Cordova Loyal Order of the Moose 2357 was founded in 1989 and ever since has served as a gathering place of Rancho Cordovans who wish to celebrate life together, serve needs within the community and support national Moose charities like Mooseheart for kids and Moosehaven for seniors.

For nearly 30 years, the Moose have been a cornerstone of Rancho Cordova community life, a tradition that continues to this day. From their lodge on Coloma Road, this fun-loving community organization looks to be a force for good in Rancho Cordova.

Here is just a short list of what they have done for us lately:
  • Entered a float in the Holiday Light Parade
  • Hosted a booth and sponsored the Community Tree Lighting
  • Participated in the Giving Tree, assuring a great Christmas for needy families
  • Hosted a lunch honoring local vets on Veterans Day
  • Provided Thanksgiving turkeys and Christmas food baskets to the Cordova Food Locker and Veterans Village
  • Hosted a cancer fundraiser
  • Created a Fourth of July float
  • Hosted a beer booth at the airshow
  • Repaired the Little League storage container after vandals broke in
  • Raised money for the Whisker Warriors
  • Hosted an annual fundraising golf tournament to benefit the Food Locker
The list goes on and on. Truthfully, it is the combined impact of service in so many small ways that makes the difference.

Nationwide, the Moose organization contributes between $75 to $100 million worth of community service annually. In addition to Mooseheart and Moosehaven, the Moose Heart of the Community effort is multifaceted with programs like Tommy Moose, helping children overcome fears and anxiety during times of stress.

The great thing about the Rancho Cordova Moose is that they are not flashy, but a strong and reliable support in the superstructure of our community. With more than 500 members, many of them Cordova High School Alumni, they represent the quiet strength that makes for a great city and a great America.

It is also important to note that even in the worst of circumstances, they can be counted upon to raise the proceeds of the bar at any function where they turn out in force, including tonight. Cheers!

The Rancho Cordova Moose Lodge has been improving our community in small ways and large for nearly 30 years. Shame on us for not saying something sooner. Congratulations!
