Way back in 2002, Rancho Cordova was immersed in an exciting challenge:

IMAGINE what it would be like to have five city council members concerned with what is good for Rancho Cordova...

• IMAGINE what it would mean to have a police department focused on Rancho Cordova...
• IMAGINE what it would be like to have a City Hall to take problems and concerns...
• IMAGINE what it would be like to release energy in Rancho Cordova to soar to greater heights...

It may be hard for newcomers to understand the frustration which prevailed among Rancho Cordovans who believed their concerns were not being heard. It may be a surprise that powerful opponents did not support the incorporation of Rancho Cordova. But citizens could IMAGINE a better Rancho Cordova and said so overwhelmingly at the ballot box. The incorporation of Rancho Cordova was a citizen-driven, grassroots effort to control local destiny, and encompassed A MILLION DREAMS for what a new city could be.

During 2023, the Cordova Community Council Foundation, along with its many partners, will celebrate all the success that 20 YEARS and a MILLION DREAMS can bring. Join us for a magical year that will remind us all that with imagination and lofty goals the sky’s the limit!
