About Us
Bust out the red, white, and blue – 2026 is a milestone year for the United States of America, and we’re ready to enjoy the celebration! It’s the United States Semiquincentennial of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, which signaled the founding of our country. It’s cause for celebration – and celebrating is what the Cordova Community Council does best.
As always, we will be offering a wide range of special events throughout the year. We will also take this opportunity to recognize what it means to be a Rancho Cordovan, as well as to celebrate what it means to be an American. That includes looking back, but also looking ahead. We can hardly wait to get started.
Who are we?
The Cordova Community Council was founded in 1959 as an “organization of organizations,” a forum for citizens to meet, dream about the future, and plan community celebrations like fireworks on the Fourth of July. We’ve organized hundreds of successful events, which have become a hallmark of Rancho Cordova community life for more than 65 years. We are also growing our reputation as a place of collaboration and innovation.
Together with the City of Rancho Cordova and many community partners, the Cordova Community Council has continued to spread its wings to help Rancho Cordova soar to even greater heights. We’re a curator of the community calendar and a champion of our wonderful city, which has been twice named an “All-America City” by the National Civic League. We like to say that “We Make the Magic!”
The federal government recognizes the Cordova Community Council Foundation as a 501(c) (3) public benefit non-profit organization. We are headquartered within Rancho Cordova City Hall. Our “can-do” spirit is reflected in the inspiring work of our many member organizations and active citizen and business members. Our spirited, high-quality community events, passionate art and history experiences, and “all in” attitude toward improving youth sports continue into the milestone year of 2026. Join us as we celebrate America 250, while keeping the focus forward!
